HOAleader Video: HOA Learns Its President Sexually Assaulted Kids
HOAleader.com - Tip of the Week - December 29, 2023
In this week's tip, we address a dangerous and embarrassing situation that arose at a Utah HOA.
We ran across news reports about the state prosecuting a sex offender—who was at that moment serving as president of his HOA—because he failed to disclose he took on that role at his HOA.
In 2016, the man agreed to a plea deal in which he admitted to the attempted aggravated sexual abuse of his adopted children. After his release from prison, he was photographed at the HOA's park with kids.
That's what seems to have piqued state prosecutors' interest. The state claims it had no idea he was HOA president, even though he's obligated to disclose volunteer roles like that on his annual sex offender registration forms.
Those news reports say he's no longer the HOA's president.
