What's My Line? The Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities of HOA or Condo Board Members

An Exclusive HOAleader.com Webinar
With Practical Tips for Condo and HOA Boards

Thursday, February 22, 2018 ONLY 3 DAYS LEFT TO REGISTER!
2-3 p.m. Eastern

We regularly hear from association members who want more detail about their responsibilities—or who want an easy way to educate their newly elected fellow board members about what, exactly, board members do.

They ask: What's the president supposed to do? How about the vice president, secretary, and treasurer? They also ask much more detailed questions on how their board can and should operate, like:

"What's apparent authority?"

"Who can act alone and when?"

"Who chooses the officers?"

"When am I personally liable for my actions as a board member?"

And more.

Join us for an in-depth webinar on February 22 led by two community association experts: A lawyer with nearly two decades of hands-on experience in advising associations, along with an industry-leading association manager who can speak to what he sees when it comes to on-the-ground roles of board members.

You'll learn:

  • The difference between directors and officers
  • The president's role, including what the president has the authority to do on behalf of the association without further support from the board
  • The roles of vice presidents, the secretary, the treasurer, and officers
  • Your critical fiduciary duties as a board member
  • Real-life information on potential conflicts of interest and how to avoid them
  • Why it's important to have a new-board-member orientation and a model code of conduct for board members, plus an overview of what to cover in each
  • How to resolve common board operational problems, such as confusion over roles or procedures, personality conflicts, and conflicts over priorities
  • When board members can remove officers or directors from the board
  • How to avoid being personally sued for your actions as a board member
  • And much more!

In 60 quick minutes, you'll have concrete information to guide your board and officers in their everyday roles. Register now for this informative event for community association board members.

How Do Webinars Work?

A webinar is remarkably cost-effective and convenient. You participate from your home or office, using a regular telephone and a computer with an Internet connection. You have no travel costs, hassle, or commute time.

Plus, for one low price, you can get as many people on your condo or HOA board to participate as you can fit around a speakerphone and a computer screen.

And now, with our special group membership offer, your entire board can attend—even from different locations. This offer requires an HOAleader.com Group Membership. When any group member orders, we will set up access for the entire group. Up to 10 users can attend for one low price. It's another incredible deal as part of HOAleader.com Group Membership.

Because the conference is live, you can ask the speakers questions via the webinar interface. Many attendees tell us this is the most valuable part of the webinar.

You will receive access instructions via e-mail several days before the event. You don't need any additional materials before the webinar starts. Your conference materials will be available for you to view, print, and download when you log in to participate in the event.
